MICRODERMABRASION
What is Microdermabrasion and how does it work?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skincare procedure that involves the mechanical exfoliation of the top layer of dead skin cells, typically using a device that sprays fine crystals onto the skin’s surface or uses a diamond-tipped wand to gently abrade the skin.
This exfoliation process is followed by vacuum suction to remove the exfoliated skin cells and debris. Microdermabrasion is commonly performed on the face but can also be used on other areas of the body like hands, feet, elbows, ankles etc.
Benefits of Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion offers several key benefits for the skin:
- Exfoliation: Microdermabrasion effectively removes the outer layer of dead skin cells, helping to improve skin texture and promote a smoother complexion.
- Even Skin Tone: It can reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and uneven skin tone by removing damaged skin cells and encouraging the growth of new, more evenly pigmented cells.
- Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Microdermabrasion can minimize the appearance of fine lines and superficial wrinkles by stimulating collagen production and increasing cell turnover.
- Reduced Pore Size: By clearing out debris and dead skin cells, microdermabrasion can temporarily shrink the size of enlarged pores, resulting in smoother-looking skin.
- Acne and Acne Scars: This treatment can help unclog pores, reduce acne breakouts, and improve the appearance of mild acne scars by removing dead skin cells and encouraging skin renewal.
- Improved Product Absorption: After microdermabrasion, the skin is better prepared to absorb skincare products, allowing them to penetrate more deeply and be more effective.
- Enhanced Blood Circulation: The exfoliation and massage-like action of microdermabrasion can improve blood circulation in the treated area, promoting healthier skin.
- Collagen Stimulation: The exfoliation process can stimulate the production of collagen, a protein that helps maintain skin elasticity and firmness.
The Lunch Break Facial: Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that typically requires no anesthesia or downtime, making it suitable for individuals with busy schedules it can easily be performed during your lunch hours. Most people experience little to NO discomfort during the procedure, with only mild redness and sensitivity afterward. Microdermabrasion is generally safe for different skin types and tones, although the intensity and settings may be adjusted accordingly.
